Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Arora graduated with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) from the University of Calgary and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree on the Dean’s Honours List from the University of Waterloo. She has completed extensive post-doctoral training, including dual Fellowships with the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association (FOVDR). Dr. Arora is among a select group of optometrists in Canada to hold both designations and is committed to staying current with the latest advancements in optometric research and clinical care.

Dr. Arora provides comprehensive family eye care and is committed to delivering attentive, individualized care for patients of all ages. She has a special interest and is board-certified in vision therapy and neuro-visual rehabilitation, helping patients achieve their best possible visual outcomes. Dr. Arora is the past President of the Calgary Society of Optometrists and a member of the Alberta College of Optometrists and the Alberta Association of Optometrists. She has also volunteered on eye care missions in Cameroon, reflecting her commitment to supporting eye health both locally and globally.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Arora enjoys staying active, exploring new cuisines, and spending quality time with her family. She looks forward to welcoming new patients and their families to the clinic.

Dr. Huong Huynh earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Calgary and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo. She completed advanced training in ocular disease and therapeutics in Florida, working alongside optometrists and ophthalmologists, including vitreoretinal, cataract, and oculoplastic specialists.

She has volunteered on eye care missions in Romania and is committed to serving communities both locally and internationally. Dr. Huynh is a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists and the Alberta Association of Optometrists.

With special interests in myopia control, specialty contact lenses, and dry eye management, Dr. Huynh values thoughtful, individualized care and believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to vision. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys live music and spending time with her family. She looks forward to caring for you and your family.

Dr. Leong graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1994 and continues to practice as an optometrist in Calgary. Her favourite part of her career is seeing her patients (and their kids) in private practice grow with her over the years. Their eye exams are tailored to help educate patients to optimize their vision and eye health over their lifetime. For over 20 years, she has been a practice owner and operator in different locations (Calgary downtown, Olds, Marlborough area, then founder of a practice in Country Hills area). She sold the practice in 2021 for family reasons and is pleased to join the Urban Eyecare group practice on a part-time basis.

Dr. Leong continues to offer proactive eyecare, with special interests in diabetes prevention and myopia control. Over the past 20 years, she has enjoyed serving with the Optometry Examiners Board of Canada, honing her skills as an exam item writer or examiner for the Licensing Board exams. She was previously president of the Calgary Society of Optometrists, and is also part of a local mobile eyecare team to travel to those who have difficulty accessing eye care (e.g. seniors homes, Afghan, Ukrainian refugees). The eyes are the lamp of the body, and Dr. Leong believes in minimizing barriers to eye care to anyone in need. Dr. Leong participates in volunteer activities in Air Cadets and Church, and enjoys caregiving and outings with the family.

Dr. Milena Opacic was born and raised in Calgary, AB and completed her undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Calgary. Her passion for eye care led her to Chicago where she completed her doctorate degree at the Illinois College of Optometry. During her time at ICO, Dr. Opacic was exposed heavily to ocular diseases. She completed several internships in South Bend, IN, San Diego, CA and at a VA clinic in Columbia, SC with emphasis on ocular disease, family eye care, dry eye and contact lenses. During her time in school Dr. Opacic went on a SVOSH mission trip in St. Lucia providing eye care to the community of Castries. Upon graduation Dr. Opacic worked in a corporate practice in Florida.

Dr. Opacic has a special interest in ocular disease as well as dry eye treatments, myopia management and contact lenses. Dr. Opacic is passionate about advanced dry eye treatments such as IPL and amniotic membranes.

Outside of clinic Dr. Opacic enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants and spending time with friends and family. She can provide eye exams in English, Serbian and Croatia.

Dr. Gaganjeet Tamber was born and raised in Calgary. He completed his undergraduate studies in biological sciences at the University of Calgary before earning his Doctor of Optometry degree in 2016 from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. During his education, Dr. Tamber completed externships across Boston and Miami, gaining experience in primary care, low vision, geriatric care, and ocular disease.

Dr. Tamber's primary focus is in comprehensive primary care optometry, with a special interest in soft contact lenses. He joined the Urban Eye Care team in 2025 and is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care to the community. Fluent in both English and Punjabi, Dr. Tamber is pleased to offer eye examinations in either language.

Outside of work, Dr. Tamber enjoys playing hockey, working out, traveling to new destinations, and experimenting with cooking diverse cuisines. A self-proclaimed foodie, he also loves exploring Calgary’s vibrant local food scene and attending live music events. These activities keep him energized and balanced, allowing him to bring his best self to patient care.
